Time Magazine revealed yesterday its choice to be Person Of The Year, the honor they give to the person, whether literal or abstract, to be the most influence over the course of events in the past year.
This year’s honor was awarded to "the Protester"!
Editors explained that "In 2011, protesters didn’t just voice their complaints; they changed the world”
Among those protesters who fight for freedom and justice there is a special page
is dedicated to Greece’s famous riot dog "Loukanikos".
Loukanikos, whose name comes from λουκάνικο (loukaniko - Greek for sausage), is a dog that has been present at nearly every protest in downtown Athens in the past few years. He has become the symbol of the Greek protests against the IMF and the EU backed austerity measures that are taking place in 2011!
